I am a graduate of Flomaton High School.
After high school, I attended what used to be Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, Alabama and received an Associates in Science degree in 2006. I then transferred to the University of Alabama and received a Bachelors in Education.

For the past 11 years, I had the privilege of teaching "across the street" at Flomaton Elementary School. I taught 4th grade for 6 years, and then moved up to teach 6th grade ELA for 5 years.
Earlier this year, I pursued and received certification in Secondary English 6th-12th.

My name is Shawna Fillmore and was raised in this wonderful, family-oriented town. I am married to Matthew Fillmore and we are blessed with two boys, Jaxson (16) and Bryson (3).
I am so very passionate about being an educator. This is definitley what I was created to do in life.
Some may call me a "nerd" in that I love challenges, especially ones relating to my occupation. Transitioning to Secondary English has been the best challenge that I have ever accepted.
I hope to challenge my students to be the very best version of themselves that they can be, and to encourage them along every step of this high school adventure.
